Cean Stone is a white oolite found in the area surrounding Cean in Normandy, it was much favoured by the Norman invaders of England for monumental work and large quantities were imported into England for that purpose during the reign of the Norman Kings.

Examples:
The Salisbury Chantry at Christchurch Priory in Dorset built for Margaret, Countess of Salisbury, the last survivor of the Plantagenet line.
