On the northern corner of the junction of the B3092 and Coombe Barn Lane stands a somewhat unusual grannary in that rather than standing on the more usual staddle stones, it is raised on brick arches. The arches have been now filled in with masonry excepting for the central ones which allow access under the grannary but the protruding plinths beneath them served to exclude vermin in the same manner as the more usual staddle stones.

1.6 km (1 mile) to the south-east of the hamlet, the land rises toward the White Sheet Downs commanded by the 246-metre-high summit of White Sheet Hill. These high downs are now owned by the National Trust and managed as a nature reserve but were favoured by our ancestors and a neolithic camp, a fort and defensive dykes were erected here by them as well as several round barrows.

Norton Ferris a hamlet which was a hundred at the compilation of William the Conqueror's Domesday, is hamlet in south-west Wiltshire on the B3092 between the A303 and Maiden Bradley.

On the corner of the main road through the hamlet (B3092) and Coombe Barn Lane to the west stands an unusual Granary in that it raised from the ground on brick arches rather than the usual stones. The Granary stands adjacent to Coombe Barn Lane, in the yard of Granary Farm House.
